Man Killed In Pickup Truck Train Collision
A 36 year old Hillsboro man died when his 1973 pickup collided with a northbound freight train at Clifton’s Farm Market Road 219 crossing. Joe Edd Naters was declared dead at the scene. Funeral services were held in Hillsboro with burial in Ridge Park Cemetery. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Nabors.

Rabies Clinic for Clifton Pets This Saturday
Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be given from 4 to 11 a.m. Saturday September 22 at the Clifton Veterinary Clinic on North Highway 6. The city ordinance requires annual inoculations. Mayor Jim B Smith said the session is at officials' request. A $2.50 fee covers vaccine and certificate.

Farmers State Bank Plans New Clifton Building Expansion
Farmers State Bank in Clifton has finalized plans for a larger two story building with a foundation able to support a future third floor. The 17 500 square foot facility will add drive in windows from West 5th and Highway 6, off street parking and a night depository. A large community room and exhibit area for Clifton citizens will be provided with separate outside access. Preston M. Geren and Associates of Fort Worth are the architects.
