County Wheat Growers Meeting Series Planned countywide

Wheat growers are invited to county meetings on contract plans explained by Wilton, County Agent, and Ed Handley of Clifton. Upcoming sessions: Valley Mills Friday Sept 15 at city hall, Meridian Sept 16 at District Court room, Walnut Springs Sept 18 at 8, Morgan Sept 19 at 8, Crawfish Gap Sept 20 at 6. The events will elect a Community Committee. All farmers who have sown wheat urged to attend for possible cash benefits.

Dallas notes a three show policy at the State Fair auditorium where Otto Herold announces ticket sales at the Adolphson Hotel Box Office. Patrons buy passes to all three productions with discounts. 105 Texans Succumb To Sleeping Sickness

Austin Texas September 11 Sleeping sickness has caused 105 Texas deaths in five years per Dr W A Davin state health registrar. Most deaths occurred in fall and winter with fourteen this January and scattered across the state from El Paso to Harrison County. The Bosque county grand jury plans bi annual session next Monday at Meridian with twelve citizens accused but not found guilty.

Has Fine Tree Of 2nd Crop Peaches

G. P. Awalt owns an unusual peach tree that yields a second crop after a cold or bad first crop. He provided a sample of fruit to the Herald-Record. peaches are small yet delicious and firm. Awalt says the tree is loaded with tasty fruit timing for the season. Mrs. W. J. Loper of Los Angeles visited Clifton friends including Mrs. D. Caraway Tuesday.
