Eight Countians Attend T. S. T. A. Dinner Workshop
Eight Countians from Bosque and Hill counties attended a District XII T S T A dinner and workshop at Parkdale Elementary School in Waco on Monday evening September 9. Attendees included Miss Lottie Beilis president of the Bosque County Unit, Miss Elsie Coston, Mrs. Frederick Pearson, Mrs. Ottis Tyler, Mrs. E. B. Harris, Mrs. Homer Spence, Mrs. Nancy Gilmore, and Mrs. Lula D. Carmichael. Coordinators from Texas State Agency at Austin led the workshop with L P Sturgeon heading a seven member team and Claude Hearne Jr of Randolph Air Force Base prominent on the program. The evening concluded with a premiere showing of the film Report of the Governor's Committee on Public School Education.

Clifton High senior named Texas A&M President's Scholar
James A Petrich of Clifton High School has been named a recipient of the Texas A&M University President's Scholars Award. Petrich, son of Rev and Mrs Albert Petrich, Route 2 Clifton, was among 21 Texas high school seniors chosen from over 400 nominees for the program that covers all university expenses. He will enter Texas A&M in September 1969 and receives 1000 dollars per year with higher five year program stipends.

Major Zane N. Robinson, son of W. 8. Robinson of Crandalls Gap Texas, is attending the five month Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk Virginia. The school, under Joint Chiefs of Staff supervision, trains officers for joint and combined commands across services.
