The Clifton P T A schedules an Eat and Meet at 7 pm Monday September 23 at the Texas National Guard Armory Clifton. Attendees bring covered dishes and silverware. drinks bread plates cups and napkins will be provided. Dues under last year’s constitutional amendment are 50 cents per member.

Bill Turner rites held after Laguna Park fatal crash

Funeral services for Bill Turner 18 of Laguna Park were held at First Baptist Clifton with Rev. Clay Burns and Rev. Joe Stevens officiating. Interment followed at Clifton Cemetery. Turner died in a two vehicle crash on FM Road 2114 near Coon Creek bridge while returning from an overnight fishing trip with companion Ronnie Horn who remained in fair condition at Goodall Whitther Hospital after suffering multiple injuries.

Clifton Teen Named Smile Girl for HOT Fair Rodeo

Miss Jane Olson of Clifton has been chosen among ten Central Texas girls as a Smile Girl for the 1968 Heart O Texas Fair. She will greet rodeo star Fess Parker and appear at the downtown Waco parade and multiple fair events, while being a Clifton High senior and cheerleader daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allison Olson.
