County Commissioners Approve 1974 Budget and Tax Plans
Bosque County officials adopt a 441 618 budget for 1974 up 21 938 from 1973 and plan 145 200 net ad valorem taxes plus 307 360 other receipts to total 452 560 in income. The plan includes road and bridge funds and a 80 cent tax rate with allocations to jury, road and bridge, general, and permanent improvement funds. Delinquent roll and road maintenance decisions also noted.

Bloodmobile to Visit Clifton for September Drive
The Central Texas Red Cross bloodmobile will return to Clifton on Thursday September 27 from noon to 7 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship Hall. About 120 donors are needed from the Clifton Laguna Park area and beyond. A committee for the visit includes Rev Ted Steenblack paid Goodall-Witcher Hospital officials and local civic leaders.

Laguna Park residents dominated Bosque County Domino and 42 Tournament held in Clifton at the First United Methodist Church Education Building. The event opened the Central Texas Fair with six 42 tables and five domino tables, drawing 44 senior participants aged 65 plus from Bosque County. Winners included 1st place in domino Marshall M. Creswell and Richard D. Johnson, 1st in 42 Pauline Johnson and J. W. Hood, with multiple Laguna Park players among top finishers.

Series E and H United States Savings Bond sales in Bosque county for July total $12,997, reported by County Bond Chairman William B Bertelsen. Seven month sales reach $78,092 which is 49 percent of the 1973 goal of $160,000. Texas statewide July sales hit $17,185,499 and seven month total $187,169,781 reaching 63 percent of the yearly goal of $216.6 million.
