A 73-year-old Clifton man was shot around 3:10 pm Tuesday at his home. Levi Brooks underwent surgery at Providence Hospital in Waco and was listed in serious condition as of late Wednesday. A local Negro woman is implicated in the shooting and the incident is under police inquiry.

The Clifton Industrial Foundation began with strong local support at a Tuesday night meeting attended by about 70 business leaders.
