A local store advertises Hastings Red Rust Proof Prolific Seed Oats at 60 cents, a Thomas 10-disc Drill for 50 dollars, and a carload of Arkansas Apples just unloaded. They offer wheat for chicken feed and promote a John Deere Van Brunt Disc Drill.
Tarleton college husky eleven defeated Clifton College Cats 24 to 6 after a seesaw start and a late Clifton drive. Key players included Ymcke Harris and Fricke with Fricke scoring Clifton’s touchdown. Next Friday Oct 20 Moody High visits for a local gridiron clash.

Bosque County 4 H youths and exhibits traveled to Dallas for the State Fair. Agnes Gehlke Cayote won first in Chali Sauce and Peach categories, Agnes Gohlke Cayote first in Cayote entries, Josephine Adama Meridan third in Tomatoes, Edna Lee Duke Meridan fourth in Hand Bag, Mildred Green Walnut Springs won Pen White Leg horns. J Lee Stroth’s Bronze Turkeys entry earned seven prizes from eight birds.
Mrs Albert Lawrence died at the family home a few miles east of Clifton shortly before midnight last Saturday. The death follows childbirth of a baby boy born the same week. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the residence by Rev Joiner of the local Baptist church and burial followed at Clifton Cemetery. The bereaved husband and friends mourn the loss of a dearly loved woman.
