Clifton Girls Sweep Twirling Honors in Waco Contest
Eight Clifton Majorettes competed in the Heart of Texas Twirling Contest at Richfield High Gymnasium in Waco on Saturday. The Clifton team won first place in Senior Twirls and Senior Dance Twirl, collecting 10 trophies and 15 medals while individual winners earned multiple top placements in solo duet and various strut events.

The event named President of the 4-H Adult Leaders Association and highlighted Thiele's 4-H career since 1963 with projects in gardening swine and Lizzie the Jersey heifer.

About 100 Central Texas teachers attended a four and one half hour Workshop in linguistics at the newly air conditioned Hamilton High School on September 30. Mrs Gail Marble Temple conducted an excellent preview. Clifton Public School representatives included Ottis Tyler Elsie Coston Janice Hlins Ebb Harris El Henderson Mary Ince J Shipp W Gilliam and Ray Berry. During intermission a late lunch was served in the auditorium.
