Westinghouse marks 35 years of supporting the 4-H electric program at National 4-H Congress in Chicago. Sixty scholarships worth 600 dollars total are awarded, with past sponsorship totaling 201 scholarships and 1 225 state winners.
Bluebonnet Club hosts Thanksgiving night dinner for about 110 at Bluebonnet Community Center honoring husbands who helped paint and build a storage house. Various local groups list meetings, dinners, and social gatherings around Lake Whitney and Clifton area with multiple hostesses and attendees. A school bond election is scheduled December 1 1970 at Clifton City Hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Clifton Record reports a Nov 19 Senior Citizens meeting at City Hall with 52 attendees including guests. A Thanksgiving covered dish luncheon followed, with a turkey donated by E R Keeling Co and baked by Martha Lyons. Birthdays in November were celebrated. prizes were awarded in bingo and dominoes. entertainment featured Charlie Aars on violin and Mabel Bryn on piano. Plans include forming a singing group and Friday gathering Nov 27 at City Hall. Also noted: Stockholders meeting of the Waco Production Credit Association elected J L Hutcheson to the board and named a 1971 nominating committee with five members.
T N Foster reports 400 members and guests attended the 36th Annual gathering. Hutcheson named director of the Waco Production Credit Association.
