Milton Charley Helms Served In War and Local 4-H Leader

Milton Charley Helms of Bosque County died in the Great War on Sept 9, 1844. Memorial services were held at the Blan's Evangelical Reformed Church in Womack with Rev. Floyd W. Trash officiating. He was a farmer, 4-H member, and noted swine producer who earned county and state honors and served in Camp Wolters before his death. He is survived by his parents, a sister and a brother, and his fiancée Frances Kroeger.

J L Brown longtime tax assessor dies in Meridian

J L Brown a prominent Bosque County farmer and tax assessor died Sunday morning at Meridian hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Meridian Methodist Church with interment in the local cemetery. He was a member of one of the county’s oldest families and survived by three daughters and several sons and grandchildren.
