Emil Lee a former Clifton resident died at the Dallas home of Mrs. George Price on Tuesday night November 21 after a light stroke. Funeral services were held in Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton with interment in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Born July 8 1866 in Hedamarket Norway he emigrated in 1870 and worked in Clifton merchant stores. He married Annie Johnson of Clifton in 1902 and left a son Edgar Annall born 1904 who died 1927. He spent his final years in Dallas with the Price family and is survived by sisters Elling Cotwick Clara Anderson Norway and Ingmar Lee Massachusetts and a brother Martins Tobawon Clifton.
A joint Thanksgiving service will be held at Clifton Baptist Church beginning at 1:00 am on November 40. Rev. Floyd W. Thrash, pastor of the local Methodist Church, will preach. The event invites all readers to attend regardless of church membership.

Mrs. Anna Mueller of Star Route Clithon received a War Department telegram confirming Private Herbert A. Mueller was killed in action on October 28 in France. The letter from the Adjutant General conveyed the secretary of war’s regret. The family and friends extend sympathy as Mueller rests among those who died for liberty.
Sgt Eds gar C Finstad 27 Clifton Texas arrived at Army Air Forces Redistribution Center No 2 Miami Beach for reassignment processing after a European theater tour. Medical exams and classification interviews will decide his next assignment. he will rest and recreation in weeks. He served as a radio operator gunner for six months and joined the AAF Oct 24 1942. His wife and father reside at the same address.
Captain Jack Nabors husband of Mrs M Lee Nabors of Clifton Texas completed twenty months of overseas service with the Far East Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific. He flew troops and supplies to Allied forces at Bunty Wau Lae Nadmb Hollandia and other sites. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and other honors. He is a graduate of Clifton High School and was commissioned at Ellington Field Texas. He expects to return home in a few days.
