Two community services are planned in Clifton. Thanksgiving Eve service at First Baptist Church tonight at 7 p.m. features host pastor Bryan Thornburg and sermons by Rev. Frank Hlorak and other Clifton ministers. Thanksgiving Day service is at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1 a.m. jointed by Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Clifton City Council Approves Gas Rate Hike and Repairs
In a regular meeting the Clifton City Council approved a 4.79 percent increase for Lone Star Gas Co after independent consultant review. The council also authorized bidding for a new 22 cubic yard garbage truck and bed, estimated at about 8 000, and agreed to sewer repairs on West 11th Street. Mayor Isenhower expects federal revenue sharing funds early December to help fund the truck replacement.
