Officials urge car owners to file for 1941 automobile title certificates at the tax office now. Applications require old title, previous year receipt, and must be handled by Austin. Delays loom if owners wait, as certificates will be needed for license plates.
C R Jameson died Wednesday morning at his farm home near Clifton after years of illness and successive operations. He accumulated land and wealth, never married, with relatives J J Jameson and nephew B Jameson managing properties. Funeral services were held at the Clifton church, with burial in Clifton Cemetery.
Clifton civic group announces the 32nd Flower Carnival this week at City Hall. The program features parade promenades, a display of queen entries, and a Friday evening finale with local performances and attractions.
The Valley FRA poultry show held November 14 to 15 awarded prizes to White Leghorn hens and cockerels as James and Amok Weide placed in divisions. Judge J Tockhart oversaw the event at McGirexor Texas with Clifton PFA exhibit participation. The program supports the AAS Food-For-Defense initiative boosting poultry production.

Fred Sherman of La Vega led his team to a 19-6 victory over Clifton, as La Vega dominated from the kickoff with powerful running and scoring drives. The Cubs struggled to stop Sherman and the Vega offense, while a large crowd witnessed the contest.
E E Stewart and wife relocate from Dallas to Clifton to establish E B Stewart Motors a new Ford agency. A temporary storefront gives way to a modern building planned on the E Show lot with completion expected in sixty days. Stewart stresses service and square dealing and vows to make Clifton his home and build a solid local business.
On Saturday November 15 at 7 00 pm Miss Ruth Tucker and Johnie Milner were united in marriage in the parsonage of the Church of Christ by Elder Mack Stirman. The bride wore hermet wool with blue fox trim and carried a black bag. After a short ceremony the couple left for a trip to the Rio Grande Valley and Old Mexico, returning to Clifton to occupy the Charles R Nelson residence in Edgewood addition. Friends extend best wishes for their happiness.
Man with many friends died at his ranch after a horse incident near his property. Details are incomplete, but authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
A new ten week auto mechanics course will begin Monday evening November 24 at Standefer Chevrolet. Instruction covers operation care and repair of tractors, cars, and trucks with tools supplied by federal funds. Eligible youths 17 or older not in school may enroll and receive a Training Record Card upon completion.
Brownwood Texas crowds from all Texas sections visited Camp Witt for a summer event. They toured areas, enjoyed music by a local band, attended chapel services, watched demonstrations, and engaged with exhibits about the modern army and regiment led by Thompson.
