74 4 Hers Receive Awards At Banquet
74 4 H'ers were honored at a Saturday banquet hosted by the Resgee County 60 Council. Awards were presented by leaders from the Meridien and Chester clubs with guest speaker Douglas Sonn. 1964 and 1965 Gold Star recognitions went to several members including Glenn Hanson and Joyer Blackman.

Deer hunters report plentiful game across the area with fat livers noted as the season began. At Clifton Locker Plant by Wednesday 34 deer were received including four does from local and county hunts, with buyers and staff processing the load.

Reserved Tickets On Sale For Clifton Cubs Forney Jackrabbits Playoff
Superintendent Kent announced reserve seat tickets go on sale Wednesday at local drug stores for the Clifton Cubs versus Forney Jackrabbits bi district football playoff at Kaufman High School stadium Friday night starting at 8.00. Clifton and Forney are district champions who recently defeated Whitney and DeSoto respectively. The Kaufman site seats about 3,000 and tickets are 1.50 for adults, 0.75 for students pre game, 1.00 at the gate.

Six Bosque County roads are slated for upgrades under a two year 350 million consolidated highway program approved by the Texas Highway Commission. Projects cover 1 463 miles of widening reconstruction and surfacing with several mileages to level up seal coat stabilize or widen structures and add barriers and signs. Plans include moving old cabins, building screen shelters, a trailer area, and new maintenance and office buildings with a projected $50 000 to $75 000 spend over two years.
