The Second and Third grades announce a Young People's Book Booth at the Flower Show selling standard story books at moderate prices for all ages. Sunday School superintendents and teachers are invited to examine the books, with proceeds funding a school painting purchase.
Meridian Creek School opened last Monday with Prof. Tyler Mayors of Morean as teacher. County Superintendent Prof. C. L. Hatson attended and delivered a talk on school work. Patrons and families spent the day on the grounds and enjoyed dinner together.
The German Lutheran Church of Clifton will hold an annual Mission Post next Sunday November 20 at 10 30 am and 2 20 pm The apparents for this event are the Rev R P Moorbe of Hamilton and the Rev Prof F W Cy Jase The offerings will be given for the church work in Beers area.
St Olaf's Church will hold a service next Sunday November 20 at 1 11 am led by Rev J K Rystad. On Thanksgiving November 24 services follow at Crantills Gap school house at 10 20 am in English and at Cove Springs school house at 8 80 pm in Norwegian. Attendees are asked to bring a thanksgiving offering to benevolent care.
Regular services will be held at 10 45 am in Norwegian and 7 80 pm in English. The Lord's Supper will be administered at the evening service. Sunday school at 9 48 am. On Thanksgiving Day November 24 at 5 pm a program of songs readings and recitations will be rendered under the auspices of the Benevolent Society. We extend cordial welcome.
On November 20, Clifton hosts an exhibition showcasing a high bred Tennessee stallion and a young black jack horse from H. B. Boxer & Sox. The event highlights quality horses, with registration noted for the jack.

Waxahachie and Ennis reports say M B Melton, accused of swindling Lon Mima of Bonis out of 500 dollars in a fake mule deal, is jailed after eluding officers for months. Mima identified Melton in Greenville, with Melton later moved to Waxahachie jail. bank accounts appear to be tied to the alleged scam.
