The 431 Council met in Clifton on November 8 at 7:00 p m in the City Hall dining room. Fifteen members and leaders attended led by Flora Mae Steyer. Minutes were read, officers reported changes, and Jenn Linberg was elected the new Council reporter. The group planned a county wide Christmas party in Meridian and a 6:00 p m December meeting at the Court Hotel.
Ay 4H Achievement night brings Eleanor Miles garden and dairy awards. Visitors include Mrs Dawson Preston and son Tommy, Kelly Whitt and Corrinne, and Jamie Erwin of Gatesville. Ray Davis from NTSC Denton visited with parents. J E Fulp of Waco stayed with Cum sings family. Edward Upon and Leonard Gas Kamp fished at Buchanan Dam. Port Worth Eddings and Warren families attended from Port Worth and Coryell City. Bun Cummings and Bun Jr. travel to Hereford Amarillo Odessa.
Wilson McCoy writes from the pipe department of the TVA powerhouse under construction at Paducah Kentucky. He describes a partially completed pager art and a 370 foot underground section with four smoke stacks rising 250 feet above ground. The letter explains the vast electrical energy needed for the atomic plant and notes private industry will provide 42 percent while 58 percent comes from TVA facilities.
Clay rence R. Stryker, son of Mr. and Mrs. C C Breyker of Clifton, stationed at Okinawa, writes from Field Station 863d AAA APO 331 San Francisco. He notes dry Okinawa weather, 79 inches of rain this year with two months left, only one typhoon, and a threat of a bigger storm like the Philippines had. He mentions football broadcasts, address changes, and plans to return to Clifton in early spring, asking the Record be held past January 1, 1088.
