Harvest Carnival Nets $406 for Parents Teachers

A senior Harvest Carnival at the school featured colorfully dressed students, songs, dances, and a Gypsy caravan scene. The program, arranged under Mrs. W. Hi McCown with music by Lois Res, drew a large audience of parents and friends and ended with pie, cake and coffee as proceeds totaled about $406 for the PTA.

The Bosque County Farm Bureau held its annual meeting at Clifton High School last Monday night. J. Keveger of Clifton was promoted to president. Fred Warring ton of Walley Mille was named second vice president and director. Directors include W. C. Hanson Cranfils Grp and Gus Hos a Norse, with several others re-elected for next year. The group aims to have a formal slate ready for the State Convention.

Obituary for Elling Colwick Of Bosque County Tex

Obituary follows for Elling Thorsten Colwick born August 22 1845 in Coppervick Norway. He came to America in 1883 and farmed in Bosque County near Clifton with his wife Mary Whine. Funeral services were held October 31 1952 at Clifton Funeral Chapel and Our Saviors Lutheran Church. The service featured Our Saviors Share Choir and floral tributes. Colwick died early Thursday morning September 30 after multiple strokes and heart complications. He lived near Clifton most of his life and is survived by family members in the Clifton area.

Rural cattle sale offers 200 head at slow market

About 200 head of cattle were offered on Wednesday with slow, uneven bidding. Buyers showed interest in good quality stocker calves though overall activity was muted as prices remained moderate.
