Grand Jury Indicts 18 For Felony Offenses
The November term grand jury of Judge Byron McClennan's court returned 18 true bills for felonies Tuesday afternoon. Indicted individuals face charges including murder with DWI, assault with a prohibited weapon, several DWIs, burglary, theft, and worthless checks. Fifteen of the 18 have been arrested or posted bond. three for worthless checks await arrest and names will be released after custody.

William P. Hobby, president and executive editor of the Houston Post and Texas lieutenant governor candidate, will address Clifton Lions Club at their noon luncheon on Tuesday November 9. The 39 year old Rice University BA graduate served in the U S Navy and naval intelligence, earning a Lt jg discharge. In 1965 he was named one of five Outstanding Young Texans by the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce.

20th Polled Hereford Show and Sale a Clifton Success
The Central Texas Polled Hereford Association held its 20th show and sale in Clifton with about 900 entries Friday. Grand Champion Bull went to John Finch and Jack Oleson. Reserve to Wallace Fields and the Gills. The Saturday sale averaged $516 with 42 bulls and 21 heifers selling. Champion Sale Bull to Cowhouse Creek Ranch at $1500. Recognition and thanks were given to Clifton merchants and the Chamber of Commerce for support.

Salt Pollution of Brazos Desalting Plan Urged
