Five People Charged in Bosque County Marijuana Violations
Bosque County Sheriff John Baxter and deputies filed felony charges of possession of marijuana against five individuals over the past two weeks. Joan Fay Poe and Travis Wayne Poe of Meridian face residence possession charges and are held on bonds of 5,000 each. Jimmy Poe and Jimmy Goins, previously Meridian residents now in Glen Rose, faced similar charges with bonds of 10,000 each. Danny Remington, formerly of Clifton and now in Meridian, was charged after a traffic stop on Highway 22 led to the discovery of marijuana. All cases await the November Bosque County Grand Jury action.

Burglars Fail to Crack Clifton NBC Safe
Two attempted break ins occurred in Clifton last weekend though damage occurred to properties. Friday night burglars battered the National Building Centers safe using tools from a local lumber yard but could not open it. Saturday a break in attempt at Clifton Dairy Queen failed after they could not remove the door’s inner bar. A turkey dinner fundraiser for the new high school cafeteria is planned in the school on Nov 3 from 5 to 7 PM with proceeds for new tile.

The 21st Annual Polled Hereford Show and Sale in Clifton drew a large crowd from across Texas. Judge Jim Lawn praised uniform quality as 119 entries paraded, Victor Domino won Grand Champion Bull at 22 months and 1800 pounds, ownership by Gilbert Julls and Sons with Gollhar Hereford Ranch.
