Citizens of Clifton urged to join gas subscription drive to meet quota and avoid higher costs. appeals highlight economic benefits, civic duty, and church event notes for May 12 services and youth program.
A number of Confederate veterans living near Chick section are understood to attend the female Confederate Veterans reunion in Charlotte North Carolina this year. Arrangements are being made for many to travel from Waco at low railroad rates. Also note a mixed health column discussing a pulpless tooth and dental health.
Clifton Public School notes celebrate community support for facilities and curriculum. A Friday night play raises funds for the high school, while the Cubs beat Walnut Springs 6 to 2 with strong pitching. Global education statistics compare U S high school attendance to world trends, and local funding covers books and equipment.

Funeral services were held at the Norse Church on Wednesday at 2:00 PM, conducted by Rev. F. E. Thorson and Rev. J. A. Urnes, with interment in Norse Cemetery. Left are many children and relatives. The obituary will be published next year.
The funeral for W B Stewart was conducted by Rev K Mane at Pauls Lutheran Church Clifton. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery with many out of town relatives attending from Texas, Commerce, Weslaco, and Gilmer. Honorary pallbearers included Onne Ans and Weary Ann, with active pallbearers listed among family and friends.
