Mrs Keith Ada Osborn, longtime Laguna Park resident, died early Sunday morning April 27 at Whitney Hospital. An obituary will run next week. in local notes seniors from Clifton High held a bake sale in Laguna Park to raise money for a senior trip to Galveston.
Area residents express gratitude for cleanup help while urging use of trash cans to improve Beer Can Alley like conditions. Local families report travels to Abilene and Brownwood, with hospitalizations noted. West Shore Civic Improvement Association meets May 2 at 7 30 p.m. Bluebonnet Center hosts Craft Club May 9 at 2 p.m.
Laguna Park announces the engagement of Patricia Kay Nichols to Jim Earl Bryant. Patricia graduates Clifton High School in May 1969 and joins Future Homemakers of America and library and pep clubs. Jim Bryant, Clifton High School 1968 graduate, studies engineering at Hill Junior College and belongs to Phi Theta Kappa and Engineering Club. No wedding date set.
Four Morgan County 4-H guests attended the Busy Bee Home Demonstration Club meeting in Clifton City Hall on April 25. Anna Jo Williams and Jane Dickey demonstrated Outdoor Recreation, taking first in District 8 Eliminations, with Kathy McArthur and Bobbetta Chronister presenting Water Safety and You. Delmelia Dunn spoke on Efficient Use of Home Freezer. the group also played Memorable Alphabet Meal.
Victoria Outlaw of Clifton Texas was honored at the 23rd Annual All College Recognition Service at Texas Tech in Lubbock. The freshman Business Education major earned Individual Honor for ranking in the top three percent of her class and maintaining a 3.25 GPA or higher in the preceding semesters.
