Poplar Bluff Missouri March 25 A G McKenzie reports that his father aged 122 and mother 119 celebrated their 100th wedding anniversary in Scotland. He lives in Oregon County and says he is the youngest of seven with all brothers still alive.

Piano tuner told to quit Hillsboro hides in town
Hillsboro Texas March 27 Lee Alexander a piano tuner was seized while walking with a young woman, shoved into a car by four or five men wearing masks, carried three miles from town, and dumped after being told to leave by midnight. He plans to stay despite threats and says no organization is behind the attack.

Ardmore Okla March 22 Funeral services of Charles Durie were held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o clock from the family residence 315 A Street northwest Dr C C Weith of the First Presbyterian church conducted the services Mr Durie was one of Ardmore s oldest citizens coming here when Ard more was only a small struggling village He was engaged in the hardware business a number of years and later entered the insurance business Deceased is survived by a widow two children Miss Helen Durie a teacher in the grade schools and Eugene Durie who is associated with the Ward Motor company a sister Mrs John Halverson of Clifton Texas who was here for several days prior to Mr Durie s death and two brothers both of Waco Texas who were unable to be here on account of illness

Legion Play Friday Night Proves A Success In town
Last Friday Ameri can Legion players presented A Poor Manned Man to a full house. The cast led by Christianson as Jupiter Hoff as the mother in law drew wide laughter and applause. The audience enjoyed each performance as the Legion members praised by all. The program featured readings by BE Larson and Hvile Misa Alice Odegaard while the Victrola provided music between acts.

Ed Ane Celebrates His Seventy First Birthday
A family gathering at Clifton area marked Ed Ane’s 75th birthday with a surprise dinner. Children and two grandchildren joined Mr and Mrs Ane along with Mr and Mrs Arthur and children and Mr and Mrs Louis Landua and their families. The event featured an old fashion hospitable meal and warm wishes from many friends.

Funeral of H L Wilson in Shreveport burial at Tom Pool Cemetery
Hittert L Wilson, born September 4 1908 in Wailey Mille, was killed Sunday night March 2 in Shreveport when run over by an automobile. He was a Baptist church member and served in the US Army Second Division Sixth Infantry. Survived by father Hen Wicean Mashopee Oklahoma trainer brothers M A Wilzen and others. Local American Legion pallbearers. Rev Clarence A Martin led the service.

Traveling man settles down after sheriff intervention in Waco
A persuasive traveling man who roamed Waco for two months was brought under sheriff supervision and settled down after a late night store visits spree. He claimed prior residence in Janece Kar, but history showed time in a state penitentiary. He was housed for trial in Metjeyar before transfer back to Waco. He appeared neatly dressed and personable during interviews.
