The Clifton Economic Development Corporation met last week. Treasurer Mike Schmidt reported sale taxes rose for a second consecutive month. The board approved a small business signage grant at the request of Main Street Director Damaris Neelley. Shane Embry updated on the Web Initiative progress and ongoing contact gathering. The group discussed arranging a meeting with initial participants and others interested in the site. Embry said chamber members and the city plus other entities will be able to update site information. Members praised the site as well integrated and awesome. W.P. Paige Key reported on chamber activities. Chair Rick Douglas asked the EDC to send a letter of appreciation to Rep. Rob Orr for HB 479 enabling EDCs to meet outside city parameters when collaborating with other cities.
