Farmers Must File Income Tax Returns for Social Security
Farmers must file income tax returns to report self employment income for social security purposes even without tax due. Bob McLean of the Waco Social Security Office warns any farmer with net profit at least 400 dollars must file and pay self employment tax. If net profit is under 400 but gross sales reach 600 or more, optional reporting may be chosen. A Waco Social Security representative will be at Clifton City Hall Dining Room 10:09 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday April 3 1962.
