Mayor P J Sehow called a mass meeting to nominate four aldermen. J M Jenson B Carpenter and W D Miller for two year terms and J H Rachalg to fill the unexpired term of G C Cormany were nominated. All four were approved with no dissent. Current council members J M Jenean and C E Carlpeoter were re elected. The meeting adjourned after endorsing continued honest service.

Merchants, clerks, bankers, carpenters and others worked from early morning, clearing brush, laying water pipes, and building small houses to create a recreational space by the Boeque river. Clifton College teachers and students contributed, and dinner featured barbecued beef, ham, coffee, and an ample display of pies and cakes. The event highlighted neighborly spirit and community cooperation across town.

Washington March 24 The House adopted a 10,000,000 appropriation to buy and ship food for destitute women and children in Germany. Funds to be spent in the United States and transported in Shipping Board vessels. The bill passed 240 to 97 after lengthy debate and amendments. An added provision urged buying supplies through farmers organizations where possible, approved 165 to 68.
