Next Wednesday is set for beautifying Clifton City Park. Local business men will close shops and citizens are urged to donate one day of work. All men meet at the Park Hall at 4 1/2 pm with tools to trim trees and clear brush.
Citizens are summoned to City Hall at 7:30 am on Monday the 24th to nominate three aldermen for terms ending for C E Carpenter John M Grimland and J M Jenson and one alderman to fill the unexpired term of G C Cormany resigned. Mayor Behow presides. Mrs E A Priddy visited friends in Temple Tuesday.
Clifton High School Foods I class served a three course breakfast to their mothers and PTA members on Sunday morning. Mitchell Self explained the home project work to the parents who showed interest in the course as new desks added to the laboratory convenience.
Word from Supt A NicholsMorgan director gens real of the Interscholastic League says the County Meet at Meridian scheduled for Thursday Friday and Saturday is postponed to the corresponding days next week. About fifteen hundred school children expected to take part. all schools should send Mr Nichols a certified entry list before the new dates.
City Council begins ditching and laying water mains by day labor to gauge the cost of the project while awaiting value for every dollar spent. Berlin residents find suburban trains cheaper than keeping homes lit without fuel.
District court notes list jurors and petit jurors names from Meridian and surrounding towns including Clifton Norse Meridan Valley Mille and Walnut Springs. In Cranes Gap on March 18 the Live Oak school boys trounced Cooper Bay 10 to 2 in a rural basketball clash. Mrs E Hulls, longtime community figure, passed away at age around senior years, with arrngements in local cemetery. Grand Stock Show highlights include 152.10 dollars raised at a PTA box supper and prize money from baby beeves and prize cattle, with J W Hutton Bon and Joe Hutton noted for top livestock wins.
Due to bad weather the relief meeting for sufferers in Germany is postponed to Saturday March 28 at 110 pm at City Hall. You are invited to participate and any help will be appreciated. Card of thanks expresses gratitude for support received in the barber business and other patronage. Also notes Miss Anna W Williams admired for long service in Philadelphia schools and kindergarten work.
Civic Improvement Society appeals to all residents to help beautify Meridian Highway town. Citizens urged to join citywide cleanups for a future City Park with ground secured. Workday set for March 26 with dinner provided. April 2 meeting announced with Mrs. K Bindstret.
Hogs sought for shipment from Curzon on Tuesday March 25 with highest Fleet price offered for delivery by that date. Contact for details. Stan representatives Joe K. McSpadden John R. Cowe and N. G. Grimland served on the grand jury convened last Monday at Meridian.
Bosque county boys from Meridian Creek Cranfide Gap Live Oak and Mustang exhibited beef calves at Port Worth Fat Stock Show. The Baby Beeves won first in their class second in county exhibit and eighth in all, earning 166 dollars in prizes. One James Knudson calf from Meridian Creek won first in its class and 12 dollars. Calves averaged 10.04 dollars profit after expenses. The group learned livestock care visited Port Worth facilities and met County Agent Veresta L L Johnson and Waco visitors.
