Our Public School Gains Interscholastic Affiliation

A State Education Department visitor reviewed our public school and recommends fifteen and one half units of affiliation. Graduates will be admitted to colleges without exams, with two more credits possible next year. Friday hosts declamation and debate with gold medals. Accident injures Lars Larson near Clifton

Lars Larson eight miles west of Clifton suffered a severe leg fracture when a wagon load of lumber toppled near the Gary Creek bridge. The bone protruded through the flesh and was dressed at Clifton before he was sent to Valley Mills Sanitarium with Ole Bakke and Martin Olson for further care. His friends hope for a swift recovery.

Curtis Hancock Arrested and Forced to Speak

Curtis Hancock the two year chairman of the State Highway Commission was arrested at Commerce Texas by Commerce police at 1 o clock today. He was to give a good roads speech in Commerce but canceled due to prior commitments with Franklin county voters. Commerce authorities then escorted him to Mount Vernon where he delivered both engagements with no resistance.
