Andrew Stark a pioneer citizen of the Clifton area died Thursday morning March 19 at his daughter’s home four miles from Clifton after a several day illness. Born July 4, 1803, he would have been 78. Survived by one son and two daughters his wife preceded him in death. Funeral Friday March 20 at 2 p.m. from the residence of Mr and Mrs A C S conducted by Rev. C T Hatheron pastor of Trinity Church and burial in Norse Cemetery.

Thieves visited the Clifton Coca Cola Bottling Works this week taking the small safe and a “dummy” laid to mislead observers. They entered by a rear window, unlocked the door from within, and loaded the safe onto a motor vehicle on a wide street. Gasoline pumps at Thompson Station were broken the same night, believed by authorities to be the work of the same party. Owner S J Cormany estimates seventy dollars in the safe along with papers of value, abstracts, and insurance documents.

The Clifton public schools invite contestants and coaches to three days of events at City Hall and the college auditorium with rural declamations, choral singing, and independent school events.
