Fragmented Plains Indian site yields artifacts and grave findings
Survey of Whitney Basin area uncovers a late historic occupation by a large group of Indians extending from New Mexico to east Texas. Excavations at Anadarko Fort Grove reveal scrapers, knives, bone implements, pigment fragments, and a small circular trench grave. Preservation was fair with most bones intact. A separate note records a late birthday gathering for Mrs. Amundson in Waco with family and friends.
