CCC Boy Dies of Injuries at Valley Mills
Roy B. Hammit age 19 from Miranda City died at Vierma Hospital near Waco at 6:19 a m Monday after injuring himself June 21 by diving into a swimming hole at Valley Mills. The CCC member collapsed from a fractured vertebrae causing paralysis and death. His body was sent to Miranda City. Veterans Hospital sanitarian Dr Harr y Rubin noted the camp has its own physician and hospital access.
