FHA Announces Release of Rural Loan Funds
The Farmers Home Administration will insure an additional 148 million in rural loans as announced in Washington by Secretary Orville Freeman. The funds include 30 million for Farm Ownership loans and 118 million for Rural Housing loans to low and moderate income families. About 20,000 applications and unfunded dockets remain.

Watch Out For New Text Books in County Offices
County School Superintendent Tom Heartsill warns visitors to watch for falling books as seven sacks of used textbooks were sent to the Texas Education Agency. The agency then shipped thirty boxes of new textbooks to be shelved and delivered to schools. Heartsill and Supt. Ralph Bradley of Iredell were set to attend the Southwest Regional Media Center Meeting in Dallas on Wednesday, June 28.
