Clarence Carpenter now owns half interest in the drug store as the partners plan to expand stock and improve service. O L Stuart will handle prescriptions and staff pledge prompt attention. The note invites feedback if customers are ever dissatisfied and mentions new cards and a display rack arriving soon.
A ground soaking rain last Monday saved corn and aided greens. Rev J K Rystad attended decorrah Lutheran College commencement in Decorrah Iowa and the Postmasters Convention in San Antonio. Miss Olga Hoel returned from Austin for the D and D Institute. Miss Lillie Colwick visits Cle burne. Fourteen youths were confirmed by Rev J K Rystad at the Lutheran Church. Miss Anna Rystad opened a Norwegian school here last Monday.
Clarence Carpenter announces his half interest in Mr J K Hutton's drug business where he has served as salesman. He pledges continued courteous service and invites friends and former customers to visit the store, promising no regret from any dealings and mutual benefit from the partnership. The Philathea class of the Baptist Sunday School entertained the Baraca class at the hospitable home of Mrs Protlity last Thursday night. Attendees enjoyed games and dainty refreshments before departing, thanking the hostess for a most pleasant time.
John Pearson aged 84 died at his daughter Mrs Louis Olive home in Port Arthur last Monday morning June 7. Funeral services were held at his son H S Pearsons residence conducted by Rev W J Mayhew, with interment at Clifton Cemetery. Surviving are two sons H S Pearson and Geo H Pearson and a daughter Mrs Louis Olive.

The Athens clash occurs Monday afternoon at 2 o clock Wolters opens speaks one hour and fifteen minutes Sheppard follows for the same duration with a fifteen minute rejoinder. John Bb Hoodcamp of Confederate Veterans appeals to Texans to adopt a constitutional amendment for taxing ten dollars per hundred of assessed value to fund Confederate pensions and support the veterans and widows homes in Austin. He calls it a patriotic, commendable proposition and urges every Confederate organization and citizen to back its adoption.
Presbyterian Church schedules usual services next Sabbath with morning and evening worship and special music. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. preaching at 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The church invites all to worship.
