Clifton Golf Club names Tindall president for coming year
Members held an annual meeting and elected Jack Tindall president with Harry Womack as treasurer. Groundkeeper pay was raised. three new members Tr and Dr Edwin Goodall were added. A committee will review course maintenance and fundraising efforts while plans to rework the greens were discussed. Clifton’s nine hole course was praised as one of the state’s best. The city park benefit roles noted.

Clifton man Miles Beckner dies after heart attack
Miles Beckner 45 a longtime Community Public Service Co. foreman in Clifton collapsed from a heart attack while talking with linemen near CPS warehouse north of Canute. Funeral services were held at home and Methodist Church with Rev. Floyd Trish and Rev. R. E. Briggs. Beckner, born May 5 1901 in Warren County, married Velma Freeman and had two sons, Miles and Glen. He was active in Rider’s Club and cattle shows, survived by wife Velma and two sons, plus siblings and many friends.
