Mrs J W Voiles Of Cayote Passes Away
Mrs J W Voiles a longtime resident of the Clifton and Cayote communities died at the family home in Cayote on Wednesday June 13 at age 79. She was beloved as a devoted mother with children ready to care for her. Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev Heymond Smoot and Rev Hayden Edguire, followed by burial in Old Clifton cemetery. The Record extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Barn Burns on Dr C M Moore Farm
A large barn on the farm of Dr G M Moore in Caryell county near Hatt Springx burned last Monday night at ten. The barn contained oats and millet valued in the thousands and hundreds of bushels of grain. fire destroyed the structure and its contents. The fire was observed by nearby residents but the cause remains unknown and the doctor was away at the time.

Boilder explosion kills two injures nine in Comanche
In Comanche on June 16 a thrashing machine boiler exploded on a farm road two miles south of town. John Carroll and George Pate, both of Comanche, were killed. Injured were eight children and several men including Charter Whippo J D Adams and Kenneth Walcott. Debris flew, homes burned, and the blast damaged nearby property as rescuers rushed victims to hospital.

Auto Crash Fatal to San Angelo Man
Douglas Williams age 19 of Hay Angelo was killed instantly Sunday morning five miles north of Clifton when his sedan collided with a Texas Milling Company truck. His uncle C. B. Webb of Waco was seriously hurt. Driver Glenn Scarlett of Clifton was driving the truck. Webb remained hospitalized in serious condition. Williams body sent to San Angelo for funeral. The wreck, on a sharp curve, prompted notes on highway safety and new road designs.

Waco Valley Mills highway opens with contracts
The Waco Valley Mills highway is now open with one contract completed and two others due for finish within the week. Total project cost is 295 785 dollars. Contractors Cage Brothers and J Oy Huby completed the seven mile segment from Spelleville west and are finalizing shaping on the second stretch. In Valley Mills the contractor builds more than a mile of oil and is expected to finish in a week. A list of local visitors and residents accompanies the notice.
