Congress Debates Pension and Farm Price Support Bills
Debates on railroad retirement pay increases and federal old age pensions continue. The discussion also covers a temporary extension of agricultural price supports through July 1 1950 for cotton, wheat, corn, tobacco, rice, peanuts, hogs, chickens, and dairy, with wool protected as a present and other products to 90 percent parity. Debaters warn against removing peanuts from supported commodities. Local social notes mix in with visits and travels across Clifton and nearby towns.
