Hugo V. Matson Dies Suddenly at Ft. Worth
Hugo V. Matson died suddenly last Sunday in Fort Worth after a long life as an automobile mechanic. He was born in the Norse community and spent his youth there, later moving to Meridian before settling in Fort Worth. He married Brielle Westherber in 1910 and left two sons, Durward Lee and Hugo Je, both of Fort Worth. Surviving are his mother Anna Matson and father John Matson, who died earlier. Funeral details were not provided.

Man Dies After Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound Near Clifton
Johnnie Moffett, 8, a former Clifton resident and longtime Humble telegraph operator, died in a Waco hospital after a gunshot wound last Saturday. An ambulance transported him from a hotel room. several others were injured in the crash as authorities pursued questions about the shooting. Moffett reportedly said he acted due to undisclosed troubles.
