Roy Yocham Jr. Dies In Dallas Rites Here

Funeral services were held for Roy Yocham Jr 35 of Irving at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday afternoon following his death Wednesday in a Dallas hospital. He was born at Whitney nicknamed KZ and lived in Clifton as a youth attending Clifton Public Schools. Survived by wife two sons Koy and Micky Lane a daughter Belinda Jean three brothers Eugene Leslie John and four sisters Robbie Agnes Ruth Stella Mae. Interment at Clifton Cemetery.

Mrs. Spitzer Dies In Local Hospital

Mrs. A H Spitzer a long time Bosque County resident died at Clifton hospital after illness on May 29 at age 88 years 6 months 28 days She had lived in Garnersville near Clifton and Memorial Hall since 1962 Funeral services were held May 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton with Rev Erwin Knitt and Rev Walter Gigstad pallbearers were local men She was born November 1 1874 at Prairie Hill Brenham and married August H Spitzer in 1897 The Spitzer family mourns her passing with six sons one daughter twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren living in several states and countries.

Alfred L Bakke Dies Here June 3

Bosque County residents learned with sorrow of the death of Alfred L Bakke at his Clifton home on Monday morning June 3. He was 76 years, 11 months, and 18 days old. Born in Norway, he married Christina Nikolaisen in 1905 and had three children Iver, Alvin, and Nina. He lived in Clifton since 1941 and worked as a carpenter and in shipyards and aircraft plants earlier in life.

Stewart family heads to Odessa oil fields for summer

Mr and Mrs Mike Stewart and their son James David and Pat Stewart left last Sunday for Odessa where Mike and Pat plan to work this summer in the oil fields. Mike Stewart finished his sophomore year at Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos in May.

Mrs. E. A. Prescher Dies at 82 in Clifton June 1

Mrs. Frieda Emma Zienert Prescher aged 82 years, 3 months, and 9 days, died Saturday afternoon June 1 in Clifton hospital after a long illness. She lived at the Sunset Home since 1962 with her daughter, and was buried after services at Zion United Church of Christ in Womack. She was survived by three sons, one daughter, nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Highway Patrol Checks Two Accidents Last Week

The Texas Highway Patrol checked two automobile accidents in or near Clifton last Sunday with no serious injuries reported. At South Avenue H and West 9th St Leroy Reesing collided with Mrs Bobby Radwig as five youngsters rode in the car with Mrs Rachury. some damage but no injuries. At the intersection of Highway 219 and the Old Meridian highway Roy Miller Crayton and W W Wilkerson collided. there was property damage and no serious injuries.

Well Contract Is Let To J. L. Meyers

Clifton City Council accepted the $11,600 bid by J. L. Meyers Sons of Denton to drill an additional water well near the reservoirs west of Clifton. Downs for paving were preliminarily identified as probable low bidder Downing Brothers of Waco. The council planned a final bid review Thursday before lettings. paving starts in July as graveling and street work continue citywide. The new fire house was to be inspected and possibly accepted if in proper condition.
