Six year old Larry Tilane Lord of Lavona Park received a perfect attendance certificate from Cuflon school authorities after missing much of earlier grades due to surgery and wheelchair confinement. He attended every day last year with help from his parents who drove him from Lake Whitney for classes. He plans to advance to Clifton's fifth grade next fall and is active in school events.

Bosque Youth Invited to Hamilton FFA Rodeo

The Hamilton FFA hosts its first invitational rodeo on June 13 14 and 15 at 8 pm each night at the Sheriff’s Posse arena in Hamilton Texas. Sixteen high school and 12th grade events will be offered with 18 trophies and ribbons through five places awarded.

Wrecks injure four in Clifton area over the weekend

Hans B. Dahl of Clifton a Farmers State Bank vice president and driver was injured in a Sunday morning crash on North Highway 6 at Bishop Street. His condition was listed as good with fractured ribs and facial injuries. Also hurt was Mrs. Bobby Lane who sustained severe facial lacerations and knee injuries and was later moved to a Stephenville hospital. Her husband Bobby Lane was treated for cuts but released. A second crash near Laguna Park injured Herbert W. Becker. The incidents occurred within hours of each other Sunday June 2, with police noting two-vehicle collisions and extensive vehicle damage.

Clifton youths open ball season with eight games

Youth baseball began Tuesday night with eight games across the Neils Creek and McGregor leagues. Clifton Greens won four Pee Wee, Clifton Blacks beat Clifton Reds, and Craw fills Gap edged Valley Mills. Freshman Clifton Reds and Blues defeated Clifton Blacks and Meridian Reds, while Meridian Maroons shut out Crawfills Gap. McGregor league welcomes Clifton with two first round wins by McGreggor's Colts and Blue Jay Braves unsure.

Drivers License Tests To Be Given June 10th

Jerry Fette, a Texas Department of Public Safety driver license examiner, will conduct tests at the Meridian Courthouse on Monday June 10. He will be accompanied by assistant Mr McGlothlin. Applicants must meet requirements including a color photograph and eye tests.

Public hearings set across Texas for 1968 hunting season

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department begins public hearings in 213 counties including Bosque County with Meridian hosting the session on June 10 at 8 p.m. The primary proposed change is to close alligator seasons in counties under regulatory authority where not already closed.

Lane couple injured in incident with hospital transfer

At press time on Wednesday the Lane couple were described as in good condition. Mr Lane sustained minor injuries while his wife was also reported in good condition and transported to Stephenville Hospital.
