Regina Chapter No. 283 of the Order of the Eastern Star will install officers for the new year Friday June 10 at 8:00 P M in the Educational Building of the First Methodist Church Clifton. Ruth Moore and David Rowe lead as worthy matron and worthy patron with a full slate of officers to be installed. A program follows with music readings remarks and refreshments.

Ed Reierson Dies In Meridian May 25
Ed C Reierson, 74, of Meridian, died at home on a Wednesday night. He was born March 9 1886 in Brownsboro and lived in Bosque County most of his life. He married Sallie Vernson in 1916 and had two sons Jewel and Woodrow. Woodrow died in World War II. He served seven years as Bosque County courthouse custodian and retired in 1947 due to ill health. Survived by wife Sallie, son Jewel R Reierson, one brother Ernest Reierson, two sisters Forrest Ray and Orville Olson, and three granddaughters. Funeral services were held May 27 at Bristor Funeral Home and St Olaf Lutheran Church with interment at St Olaf Rock Church Cemetery. Pallbearers listed. community offers condolences.

The Clifton Horse Show Club's first event drew 37 quarter horse entries and 158 performance entries. Spectator turnout was disappointing due to conflicting events. Grand champion mare went to Silver King Lady with reserve Miss Jazebel, both owned by Harry S Martin. grand champion stallion was Brian's Rojo owned by Dr. Winston Coch.

W. W. Windham Dies In Houston
W. W. Windham of Clifton died after a stroke at Benner Sanitarium in Houston on May 29 at age 81. Funeral held May 31 at First Methodist Church Clifton. interment in Clifton Cemetery with Clifton Masonic Lodge rites. Windham, a longtime Clifton resident, was active in church and community and prior to illness ran a Clifton grocery business.

The program runs 9 AM at Meridian School with a morning talks session and a live demonstration of clearing timber using the Rome K/G Clearing Blade and a large soil prep tool. Miss Mildred Hogstel Earns Nursing Master at UTMB
Miss Mildred Hogstel of Fort Worth and her Clifton parents attended the 70th UTMB graduation held at the Moody Center in Galveston. She received the Master of Science in Nursing after completing degree requirements last summer. The ceremony also awarded MD degrees and other nursing diplomas to dozens. She returned to Fort Worth to resume duties at Harris College of Nursing, Texas Christian University.

Grains list oats 65 to 67c, wheat 1.80 to 1.83 a bushel, spring wheat 1.50, barley 86c, yellow corn 1.25. Cattle sale saw 440 head with steers 24 to 26.50, cows 15 to 17.50, calves 24 to 27, hogs 15.50 to 16.10, lambs 12 to 17.50.
