Mrs Carpenter Dies Here July 18
The death of Mrs. W. F. Carpenter, 71, occurred at her Clifton home on Friday July 10 1952 after a long illness. Born November 10 1880 in Bonham Texas she was one of five Freeman children. She married William Praxier Carpenter November 16 1900 in Wingate Texas. Seven children survive with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held with relatives and friends in attendance.

Clifton Tragedy Claims Willie Bishop in Hit and Run
Willie Bishop, 67, died after being struck by a car driven by Joe Walker Enochs near the Pentecostal Church north of Clifton on Saturday night July 19. Lights from another vehicle blinded Enochs. Bishop reportedly moved toward the car as he blew his horn. He lived only minutes after the impact. He was born in Santa City Mills County and left a wife Anna Tas Bishop and four children. Funeral services were held July 21 at De John Stephens Chapel with interment in Clifton Cemetery. Pallbearers listed. extended family and many relatives mourn.
