Es C C Orbeck, thirty six, wife of Clifton business man and mother of five, died at Baptist Sanitarium Week after weeks of illness. Specialists and nurses aided by the family could not halt the decline and the community mourns the loss of a popular citizen.

Civic Improvement Society Meeting Draws Attention in Clifton

The Civic Improvement Society held an interesting meeting last Wednesday afternoon at Mrs Griniand's home. President urged more member attendance and fines for nonattendees. The group designated the third Friday of each month as road hauling day and urged residents to tidy rubbish for city pickup. Local areas show weed patches harming town beauty. residents urged to contribute funds to beautify Clifton, while church lawns and school campus are reported in good condition.

Mrs. A. White and her daughters Minsex May and Ethel arrived in Clifton to visit Mr. and Mrs. RH Lee and other relatives. The Whites and Lees have long ties to Clifton and were warmly welcomed by many friends.

Prominent Morgan Woman Elizabeth Martin Dies at Home

Elizabeth Hyett Martin died at her Morgan home at 11 40 p m after months of frail health. Surrounded by family she passed quietly, leaving a life marked by faith, refinement, and strong character. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by Dr Laurie Carlton with Rev Dean and Rev Walker, and a peculiarly comforting sermon. Born in Charleston South Carolina Sept 15 164d she moved to Mississippi and later Texas, settling in Morgan in 1863. Surviving children include C D Martin and others, with seven grandchildren and several relatives listed.

Baptist Church to Hold Special Sunday Service

Clifton College Granted Full Recognition by State Examiner

The State Examiner granted Clifton College full recognition and said students will receive the Certificate Law benefits without examination. The college awaits equipment arrival delays, but the faculty for next year will be the strongest yet, with teachers holding master’s and bachelor’s degrees. Reminbert Stanford, former Santa Fe foreman, visited with his parents and children, planning returns every six to eight weeks.

Baylor Coach School Showcases 32 Enrollees

Baylor athletic school for coaches reports thirty two high schools and junior colleges enrolled. The program covers football theory and practice with lectures and demonstrations by Baylor football stars and coaches.
