Richards, Massey Married in Coyote Church July First

Miss Stella Gayle Richards and Homer Hardy Massey III, both of Fort Worth, wed July 1 at Coyote Methodist Church in Bosque County. Rev. David Yates led services with an arch of white asters, reception at the bride's home, and a Fort Worth couple now residing at 4124 Fairlane. Miss Richards is a bank secretary. Massey works as a Toledo Scales service representative.

Death of Charles C. Bullard Jr. Foster step-father dies in Waco

Funeral services were held July 1 in Houston for Charles C. Bullard Jr. who died June 27 at Providence Hospital in Waco at age 71. He lived in Houston for years and managed hotels in Houston Corpus Christi and Galveston before retiring in 1948. Survived by his wife, son Charles C. Bullard III, and daughter Helen Mar Wade.

Floyd T. Howards Services Held Here

Funeral services for Floyd T. Howard 61 were held at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. The Lorena native and Humble Oil veteran was buried at Waco Memorial Park after a 2:00 pm service, with Masonic rites and a large nephew pallbearer group. He is survived by his mother Sophie Nelson three sisters and three brothers.

Miss Mildred Hogstel Receives Nursing Education Professorship

Miss Mildred Hogstel of Fort Worth recently was named professor of nursing education at Texas Christian University after teaching there. She also earned a trophy and cash for the highest single game score among an operating nurses bowling group in 1960 61 while her team won first place that season.

Fireworks Attract Large Crowd At Clifton Sunset Home

A large crowd gathered Tuesday night July 4 to watch a fireworks display at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home for residents and the public. Atlas Fireworks Company of Fort Worth produced the annual show led by Roy Trout. With Trout away in San Antonio, John Anderson Harold Kester and Irvin Grimland managed the launches. wind challenged the high shots but the display drew complimentary remarks for its brilliant rockets.

M. L. Lambert has been a patient in the local hospital since July 2 where he has been undergoing treatment. It is hoped that Mr Lambert soon will be much improved.

Justice McDonald to Install Clifton Lions Officers for 1961 62

Frank G. McDonald chief justice of the Texas 10th Court of Civil Appeals will install Clifton Lions Club officers for 1961 62 at the July 11 meeting. Named To State Auxiliary Post In VFW Convention

Mrs. Carl Schmidt recently elected Department of Texas conductress at the VFW and auxiliary convention in San Antonio. She has served as guard and earlier led District 14 auxiliary and Clifton post 8553 auxiliary. Charlene Meyer placed fourth in the State VFW Sweetheart contest. Clifton attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow W. Meyer and daughters Charlene and Darlene, Chris Grimm, Sam Amundson, and Alvin Amundson.

Tergerson Reunion Held in Clifton

Descendants of Terry Tergerson and Anna Nystel Tergerson met Sunday July 2 at the VFW Post Home in Clifton for an annual reunion. A noon basket lunch preceded a program and business meeting chaired by Mrs. E W Wallace. Awards honored T S Tergerson as oldest present, Jeanie Marie Tergerson as youngest, the Merrill Johnson family for traveling far, and the J C Tergerson family for perfect attendance. Archie Tergerson was named 1962 reunion chairman. Activities included poems, songs, Bible story in motion, various musicians, games, swimming, and refreshments. Numerous relatives from Clifton and surrounding towns attended and departed together after services and fellowship.

Death of Neal H. Brynie in Clifton and Fort Worth

Neal Halvard Brynie aged 62 6 29 died July 4 at the home of his brother near Clifton after a heart and arthritis illness. He lived in Clifton Norse Cranfills Gap and Fort Worth, worked 15 years at Convair, and is survived by a daughter Ruthie and son Neal Curtis. Funeral July 5 at Trinity Lutheran Clifton with interment in Clifton Cemetery.

Local Girl Wins National Honors in FHA Convention

Miriam Thompson of Clifton earned national pianist honor at the National Convention of Future Homemakers of America in St. Louis. She shared the role with two pianists from Kentucky and Arkansas and also joined the chorus. Texas sent 39 girls, including Linda Walls of Valley Mills, with chaperone Mrs. Henriette Harris.

Ray Hardison, superintendent at Valley Mills for five years, resigns to take a similar post in Nocona High Schools Class AA with a financial advancement. Walnut Springs Man Found Safe After Drowning Search

A Walnut Springs rural mail carrier, 36, reappeared early Thursday after a four day absence during a Lake Whitney search. A wife’s call cleared the hunt, though his exact whereabouts remain unknown. Rescue units and skin divers had scoured the area near Loafer Bend Park.

Death of Mrs Martha Wiede Reported in Bosque County

Relatives mourn the death of Mrs Martha Wiede at about 8 45 am on Thursday July 6 in Bosque County. She had a long illness and suffered a stroke on July 4. She was living with her son Harold Wiede in Garnersville near Clifton and died while being transported to the hospital. Funeral services were pending at press time.

Greens beat Cranfills Gap 11 6 and Turnersville 7 5, with Rummel pitching Cranfills Gap and Outlaw for Turnersville, Huffman catching both. Blacks lost 7 1 to Turnersville, Pierson and Hoel pitching. Pamela Borchers visited in Waco from Thursday to Sunday with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Murrell. Johnny Denton and family visited Galveston from Monday to Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Denson and children. August Kettler went to Port Arthur for a several day visit. Denton substituted for the Kettlers at the Cozy Corner Cafe during their absence.

Clifton Market Prices Saturday Auction Cattle and Hogs

Thursday morning prices list eggs cream grain and cattle figures from Clifton buyers. About 375 cattle were offered at Wednesday's Clifton auction with a steady market except packer cows unevenly lower. Top hogs brought 17.75 to 18 dollars and lambs 14.50 to 15 dollars per hundredweight.
