The combined Sunday School of the Presbyterian and Methodist churches in Clifton plans a two week Vacation Bible School from July 10 to July 21. Children aged 4 through 12 are invited to attend. Beginner and Primary meet at the Methodist Church, Juniors at the Presbyterian Church. Classes run 9:15 to 11:30. Adult workers include Mrs. Hy Burst, Mrs. Jolnaou, Harry Wor iasck, Haldee Duncan, W. Cadet Cleatus Barton Hawkins age 20 died during a routine combat training flight 12 miles east of Goodfellow Field when his parachute entangled with the plane. Funeral services were held in Mosheim with Rev. Arthur Loper officiating and pallbearers including former classmates. He is survived by his mother, grandfather, four aunts, and numerous relatives. interment followed at Clifton Cemetery.

Free Plane Ride for 17 Year Olds Testing for Army Flight
Seventeen year olds who pass the Army Air Forces examination at Waco Mapleipal Airport will ride free planes as the first step toward potential airline career paths such as pilot navigator or bombardier. A mental testing exam will be held next Sunday at 10 am for all 17 year olds who take the test, with successful applicants to receive flight training opportunities.
