First Pension Checks Handed Out Monday
A local pension distribution began on Monday with elderly recipients receiving their first checks. One 100 year old beneficiary, Freak Kaiver, was among the attendees as staff issued payments and explained the process.
Barn Fire Destroys Cooksey Barn and Feed Supplies
A large barn and its contents near CUfiA were destroyed by a fire of unknown origin between seven and twelve o clock last night. Mr and Mrs Cooksey were home when neighbors passing by discovered the blaze and helped save the alata. Mr Cooksey, injured while attempting to save items, was bedridden for several days as his heart worked to recover. Only a small amount of insurance covered the barn and tents, with substantial loss to carn and oats. Friends express deep sympathy for the family as the loss runs into hundreds of dollars.
