Clifton Water Stays Strong In Heat Wave Amid Drought
Clifton City Administrator Charles McLean says the reservoir holds about 163 million gallons, minus 10 percent for contract use, leaving roughly 630 thousand gallons available. About half comes from deep wells and half from the Bosque River via the lake, with 315 thousand gallons daily pumping. Since January 1 the city has pumped 65 million gallons back into the lake, restoring about 200 days of supply.

The Sons of Hermann Womack Lodge 135 sponsor a fish fry on Saturday July 4 starting at 6 to aid the Clifton Volunteer Fire Department and its equipment. The fundraiser began in 2000 to help the department buy a new fire truck and gear as costs rise and fires strain fuel and supplies. Immanuel's Diebenow Retires After 40 Years As Lutheran Pastor
Clifton pastor Peter Diebenow retired on Tuesday June 30 after four decades at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He and wife Anita may stay put or move later as they plan for the future.
