The Bosque Valley Heritage Society sponsors a July 3 celebration at Old River Park Valley Mills. Louie Terry Dies in Wreck in Meridian
One killed and three hurt in a two car collision at the Morgan Street, Highway 22 and Hill Street intersection in Meridian Tuesday night. Louis Terry 35 of Meridian died at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, wife Gladis Terry listed in fair condition, Gary Emmett 23 and Lenatus West 19 in Meridian Hospital in good condition. The wreck remains under investigation by Patrolman Baker.

5 Percent Sales Tax Begins Today in Clifton Area
Clifton residents and most Texas cities must start paying a 5 percent sales tax today July 1 following the 1 percent hike approved by the Texas Legislature. One percent goes to local city funds while four percent goes to the state, up from 3 percent.
