Texans Back Full Texas Railroad Commission Power

A resolution calling for restoring full power to the Texas Railroad Commission over railroads to private owners and opposing regional or government control of railroads express and telegraph companies was adopted by about fifty shippers and representatives at a Chamber of Commerce meeting. The document, drafted by a special committee, was adopted with debate ending in a unanimous vote aside from one opposing member. The resolution will be sent to Texas senators and Congressmen urging immediate action.

Dr. S P Brooks to Speak at Local Church

Dr. S P Brooks will speak at the church this afternoon at 4 o clock in aid of education. Brooks has long served as press of Baylor University for more than a year and is expected to draw a crowd.

Waxahachie report notes real estate activity by Tom Grimland. He sold his Jefferson street home to Clayton Alderdice for 6500 dollars. He then bought a 200 acre farm from Alderdice for 15500 dollars and agreed to acquire the John George West Main Street homestead for 10000 dollars as a permanent Waxahachie residence.

Tiny one pound midget marvel of countryside

Mr and Mrs George Elkins of the Lohn community welcomed an infant son weighing one pound at ten days old. The attending physician says he is perfect and has a good chance to grow up. The Elkins farm home six miles north of Lohn has drawn crowds eager to glimpse the tiny marvel reported by the Brady Standard.

City Meat Market Opens Under New Ownership

A new meat market will open at the former Zschech stand, previously Standefer Brothers, on Saturday morning February 1. The City Meat Market is owned by B. C. Kidwell and J. F. Methodist Sunday School and Bible Class Schedule

The Methodist Church announces Sunday School opens at 10 o clock and Busy Men's Bible Class meets at 11 at the parsonage. The Fort Worth Star Telegram features T. P. Adams, a Bosque County native, who rose from attorney and life insurance agent to oil pioneer. He helped drill the Brashear well south of Ranger that topped at about 300 barrels daily and expanded operations from Burkburnett to Ranger and Comanche counties, increasing his fortune.
