Texas Legislature Moves on Rules and Appointments
In week two the Texas Legislature advanced procedural rules in the House and Speaker Bob's plan to name standing committees next. The Senate confirmed Gov Allred appointees, though three unemployment commission members faced opposition led by Weaver Moore and Clint Small over alignment with labor interests and child-labor policy. Texas U. football fans celebrated a 10 year contract for Dana Bible as head coach, while proposal antics and a gas rate case featured in committee action and a damaged currency notice outlined federal redeemability rules.
