The Bonque County administration reports Gomty Farm plans to plant 20 000 acres of maize and 14 000 acres of stone crops to support the war effort. Farmers will be urged to grow hay and other feeds, with a countywide drive to inform producers and boost total outputs.

Funeral services were held at St Olaf Lutheran Parsonage and the Church in Cranfills Gap for Rolf Harold Maskestad who died in a plane crash at Seymour Johnson Field North Carolina. He was born November 12 1923 in Los Angeles California and served as a Knight Officer cadet. He leaves a mother three brothers and a sister.
