Clifton Junior College launches its conference basketball schedule Saturday night in the High School gym at 1 o clock against Temple Junior College. Temple and Hillsboro are viewed as the strongest teams in the conference and the Cowboys hope to click to a long season. The CIC girls team also opens with a game this week.
Clifton American Legion Auxiliary announces a winter series of book reviews held with a silver tea in the City Hall dining room. Attendance is by invitation from a member. first event January 16 at 2 p.m. features Seventy Miles from Aden by Harben Yates.

Bury Bee Home Demonstration Club invites members to the Club House for a January 14 gathering at 1 2200 pm. A program on wiring lamps for lighting by Ager will be featured, with attendees urged to bring tools.
Public School trustees name B My Kix as band instructor. Joe fin dhe High School will move to Chiftusy in a few days to begin within the week. The new instructor plans to build a 40 member high school band from Oklahoma Ay and My with prior experience at Yale, Okla and Waco Aenty Air Field. The program aims to revive the band, raise interest, and field about sixty current students.
James Tapiel Voiles died Saturday January 3 at the local hospital. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth Berg at the Clifton Baptist Church and burial followed at the Clifton Cemetery beside his parents. He was born June 10 1880 near Clifton and lived most of his life in the Clifton area. He leaves six brothers and a large family, with many friends who will miss his sociable nature and daily chats in town.
